The Royal Marine Hotel has a stunning grand facade and lovely sea views from my room, but I faced several service hiccups during my stay. While the breakfast buffet had a good variety, the staff were inconsistent, with some being attentive and others ignoring requests. There were also issues with my room's bathroom cleanliness and shower pressure, which detracted from my experience. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but improvements are needed in service efficiency and room maintenance. 🌊🛏️

I enjoyed a spacious room with a good sea view, yet the bathroom was small and poorly maintained, suffering from a moldy shower curtain.

Service varied greatly; while a few staff members were friendly, many seemed overwhelmed and missed opportunities to assist effectively.
Location

The hotel's location is excellent for exploring Dublin and accessing the DART, making it very convenient for my travels.
Dining

The breakfast was decent with a range of options, though the service was slow and some staff appeared indifferent to guest needs.
Facilities

The leisure facilities, particularly the pool area, were nice but cleanliness issues need addressing, especially concerning the pool's maintenance.

My stay at the Royal Marine Hotel was a mixed bag. The location by Dun Laoghaire harbor offered stunning views, and the staff were friendly and attentive. However, the dated room I had lacked many amenities, including functioning wifi, which left me feeling a bit disappointed overall.

Rooms
5.0
The room was comfortable but somewhat dated and faced the back of the hotel with no view. The wifi was a significant issue, and despite assurances, it wasn't fixed during my stay.
Service
6.0
While the staff were friendly, there were moments where they seemed overwhelmed or unhelpful, particularly at check-in when I arrived early. They could improve in how they communicate issues to guests.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location near the harbor is fantastic, providing easy access to trains for trips into Dublin, though the immediate area is quite tranquil, away from the hustle and bustle.
Dining
5.0
I found the dining experience lacking, particularly at breakfast where the selection seemed inadequate and quality was below average. The restaurant felt cramped, which diminished the experience.
Facilities

The spa services were a bright spot, with a commendable quality for relaxation. Overall access to facilities like the pool was good, though the experience was not perfect due to noise and crowding.

I enjoyed the friendly service and cleanliness of the Royal Marine Hotel, but unfortunately faced some issues that affected my stay. While my room was comfortable and well-equipped, there were problems with the internet connection, and I was disturbed by loud noise from a nearby event. Overall, the hotel has great potential, but there were some disappointing aspects during my visit. 🌊🛌

My stay at The Royal Marine Hotel had its highs and lows. The historic charm of the hotel was lovely, but the check-in experience was a hassle, with room mix-ups and lack of proper communication. On the bright side, the spa was fantastic, and the food was really good. Overall, while there were significant issues, certain aspects of the hotel did shine through.

Rooms
6.0
The room I eventually got was nice but not what I initially booked. The trouble to change was frustrating, and the other room had a view that wasn’t great. The air conditioning worked well, which was a plus.
Service
6.0
The service was hit or miss. Some staff were friendly and helpful, especially after my check-in troubles. However, I expected more attentiveness given the situation, and it felt like they could've done better during the initial mix-up.
Location
8.0
The location is fantastic, close to the pier and great for shopping and walks. It was easy to get around on public transport, which I loved, but I wish my room had a view to enjoy it better.
Dining
8.0
Dining was a highlight. The food was really good at the restaurant, though I had to ask for steak knives, which was a bit odd. The breakfast offering was commendable as well, adding to the overall dining experience.
Facilities
7.0
The spa was a standout feature for relaxation, with great facilities. Plus, the gym and pool access was a nice bonus. However, minor issues with room service could use improvement.

I had a pleasant stay at the Royal Marine Hotel, with its stunning sea views and prime location near Dun Laoghaire’s DART station. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast offered a wide variety, though it did get a bit crowded. However, I found the decor to be a mix of modern and dated styles that could use some cohesion. Overall, it was a charming place to unwind for my short getaway.

The service from the staff was mostly helpful and accommodating, especially during a room change I had to request due to a heating issue. However, I did encounter some staff members who seemed overwhelmed and less attentive at times.
